Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Inspects Preparations for the 25th Silver Jubilee Research Conference, Science Fair, and University Cleanliness

On the morning of January 27, the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Education, Dr. Zaw Myint, together with the Rector of University of Yangon, Dr. Tin Maung Htun, the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Higher Education Dr. Kyaw Htun Naing, and other officials, visited the Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) at the University of Yangon where they inspected the conditions of  preparation work for holding the 25th Silver Jubilee Research Conference and Science Fair (2026) conducted by the Myanmar Academy of Arts and Science, including the arrangements for exhibitions that will be displayed during the Science Fair, encouraged the organizers, and coordinated the necessary support.

 

In the afternoon, the Deputy Minister arrived at the Hlaing Campus of the University of Yangon and made a tour of inspection of the cleanliness and beautification conditions along the campus circular road, the lighting arrangements for the teachers’ and students’ hostels, and the temporary futsal football field and volleyball court constructed in front of Kha Paung Hall and Poppa Hall, while coordinating the requirements needed for upgrading the Hlaing University campus.

 

Afterwards, he met with first-year students who were attending various courses at the Hlaing campus and delivered words of encouragement to them in the Theatre classrooms.

 

Hhe then visited the Yangon University of Education, where he met with the Rector, professors, and principals from Education Degree Colleges in Yangon. They held preliminary discussions and coordination meetings regarding the development of curricula needed to upgrade some education degree colleges to the level of Education Universities.

 

On the morning of January 28, the Deputy Minister attended a meeting at the meeting hall of the University of Yangon together with the Rector and university officials, where he met with the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, members, and sub-committee members of the Myanmar Academy of Arts and Science to discuss preparations for the 25th Silver Jubilee Research Conference paper-reading sessions, the Science Fair, and the festival market. They also coordinated future plans and arrangements by each sub-committee.

 

Afterwards, he toured the areas along Pyay Road and Inya Road outside the University of Yangon campus to find ways the university could cooperate with the Yangon City Development Committee in order to beautify the campus and create it into a widely accepted campus that meets international standards.

 

Finally, he visited West Yangon University, where discussions were held on the long-term maintenance and preservation of the university’s main building, library, lake, and football field.
