Deputy Minister for Education Dr Zaw Myint meets Professors and Teachers at Naypyitaw State Academy

Deputy Minister for Education Dr Zaw Myint visited Naypyitaw State Academy and held a meeting with the rector, pro-rector, professors, and faculty members.

 

Present at the meeting were Director Generals, rector and pro-rector, principals of education degree college, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, professors, and faculty members.

 

During the meeting, the deputy minister said that the Head of State opened Naypyitaw State Academy on 9th November 2022, envisioning the academy as the leading university in Myanmar and aiming to develop Naypyitaw as an education hub. He also noted that the academy is the country’s only comprehensive university where a wide range of academic disciplines can be studied. He emphasised that the success of the academy depends on well-constructed and sound policies, the collective efforts of the Rector, faculty members, and students. Hence, he urged teachers to cultivate students with strong morale and discipline and to provide them with quality education. He added that as educators, teachers should guide students to become well-educated individuals who possess both knowledge and good character. In order to improve teaching quality, he encouraged faculty members to hold weekly rotating discussions by each department on four key topics, namely, interactive teaching and learning methods, the use of artificial intelligence in education, the use of library and the internet in teaching, learning, and projects, and teaching methods to enhance five core thinking skills.

 

Following the meeting, the deputy minister greeted the teachers warmly, asked about their needs and suggestions, and addressed the needs.
