Deputy Minister for Education U Nay Myo Hlaing along with officials conducted an inspection tour of Basic Education Schools and Basic Education and Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock High Schools in Yangon today morning.
Firstly, the Deputy Minister inspected No.10 Basic Education High School and No.4 Basic Education High School in Tamwe Township, and No.2 Basic Education High School and No.1
Basic Education High School in Yankin Township and met with the principals, teachers and school benefactors.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister said that teachers need to manage schools’ image and cleanliness. They should cultivate students to learn since childhood and play sports in order to develop the Five Strengths. Students should be raised not only to be educated people but also to be moral and patriotic citizens.
Schools need to join hands for students who are far from school education to get full chance for the second phase of Non-formal Primary Education Programm (NFPE) and Non-formal Middle Education Programme (NFME). Moreover, students should be encouraged to use school libraries effectively and read books consistently to gain more knowledge. He then instructed to renovate the sports field and stadium and also fulfilled the needs cooperatively.
He subsequently visited Basic Education and Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock High School in Thingangyun Township and inspected the students’ peaceful learning, teaching and learning process of the school. He also emphasized that teachers need to implement practical lessons of agriculture. The KG+9 of middle school education is being carried out by prescribing a compulsory level to enhance education. Starting on next year, general knowledge of industrial, agricultural and livestock are being planned to teach at the lower secondary level. After passing the matriculation examination, students currently attending at Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock High School will reach universities, vocational institutions and work domain according to their marks. Therefore, students need to be ambitious and teachers need to use effective teaching methods. After that, he fulfilled the requirements.
